Yes, perhaps I do have too much time on my hands today ?  You think?  What better way to spend it than playing in the snow with Mae!

  1. Mae looks so big now. Does Mae love the snow? Btw that is a lot of snow lol...we try to get up north each year to get the kids some snow time but our snow is nothing like that.

  2. She's a big girl! A bit bigger than we expected and will probably be about 40lbs. she's 9 months old right now, LOVE her! She doesn't just love the snow, she is OBSESSED with it! The first big snow day my husband took her out in the morning and she was actually jittering she was so excited! we got a good dump of snow, but now it's just pouring rain. The ski area is harvesting snow from the parking lots in an attempt to open this week! Your kids must love that trip to the snow!

  3. Did the ski resort open up? Are you snowed in yet?

  4. Finally, yes! But we had a big rain storm between snow storms so the coverage still isn't great. Big storm today expected and it is snowing pretty good. Been out playing with Mae a lot but for me, I still need a bit more snow on the mountain to break out the board! Too many lumps and bumps and ditches . There is a groomed xc trail right in front of the house too! It is so awesome! Today I may break out the snow shoes .... so when are you planning your "snow day" ?

  5. Yeah no snow this year. I actually have to get Mrs Schlub to do a guest post. She has decided to have her 2nd bunion surgery tomorrow. So she will be in a boot for about 8 weeks.

  6. Owww, my sis-in-law has had two of those. Very painful to have bunions and she certainly felt better later! Hope the surgery goes well!

  7. You realize you are my only reader?? Lol! You can not believe the craziness here....in a week we had 112 inches of snow!! Lost our power for 5 days in that time....it only came on Christmas eve! AND , the highway was closed for avalanche work/danger and bad weather off and on for days and for 24 hrs at one point!! I was so thankful that we finally wre all together on Christmas....the best gift!!

  8. Those sound like AMAZING stories...the only thing we get down here is freeze warnings and have to cover our plants with blankets.

  10. Funny isn't it, I'll take a picture one of these days. I just saw a video on The Gorge Waterfalls 50k....I would love to run that race some day, is that in your neck of the woods

  11. Oh, that sounds fun! that must be down by the Columbia Gorge, so sort of in our Pacific Northwest area....a few hours away down in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon. There is a 100k that goes thru our neighborhood though!!! I think it's called the Cascade 100? I'd have to look it up. Crazy crazy mileage through the wilderness! You would probably love it!

  12. The video I saw showed the runners after river crossings and wet trails. Just a muddy mess and I was loving it. Its like being a kid splashing through puddles :)

  13. That's how Mountain biking always felt to me! Loved it because of the mud and dirt and just plain fun. You guys have done a mudder run haven't you?? I have a friend that does them all the time and he loves them! A complete hoot! How's running in 2016 treating you? It's been super cold here, like 12 degrees....ha ha, NOT fun!

  14. No mud runs for us. We did a color dash one time and I was done with those gimmick runs. Stick to road and trail races. 12 degrees is just crazy, it gets to 60* here and we are all grabbing our jackets lol.

  15. My friend in Maine said it was -9 the other day! yikes! No thanks...Yes, I remember you posting about the color run. Sounded like a big nuisance to me! I see the mts of AZ getting snow. Is that mostly around Flag? Will you get to go have a snow day?

  16. Oh Lord -9 is unbelievable. Yeah mountains are getting pretty good snow. Flagstaff and Showlow are the two ski resorts we have up north. Flag is a bit too touristy for me so i prefer the longer drive to Showlow. Mrs Schlub and I were just talking about that last night, all depends on her recovery from surgery. I would love to try some snow runs lol.
