Mae's Day

Will ya look at this lucky dog?  Will ya look at this gorgeous weather?!  Today we are celebrating Mae's first birthday.  She's 1!  And she's out doing her favorite thing, running around on the mountain!

We've been blessed by absolutely perfect weather this week and still have enough snow on the mountain to skin up with our split boards. It's been great.  Mae is learning to just run ahead of us, which is terrific, because her herding instinct, trying to keep us together, doesn't make for very good snowboarding.

I think this is a great way to spend a birthday, don't you?

  2. Hey! Good to hear from you! She got a nice cake made out of kobe beef, sweet potatoe frosting and peas! My daughter bought her a chew toy but she ate part of it within ten minutes so ....no more toy!
was thinking of you the other day because I watched a movie that I think you would LOVE. If you do Netflix and haven't already seen this documentary.....the Barkley Marathons....it's an insane trail race that you have to see to believe! Funny group of people. Very interesting!
How are you?? How's the running /spring/ family ??

  3. RIP chew toy!!

I've seen the documentary on the Barkley. Way too intense for me lol. Jamil Coury is a race director here in az and he has been trying to complete that race for years. So naturally following him I read up on the race lol.

Running is going good. We have had great weather sometimes hot which helps a lot.

Family is good, kids keep us busy but family time is special and means a lot to us :)

  5. It's an insane race concept! The doc was very entertaining!
Family time is excellent! nothing better. My son is turning 25 (gasp!) this weekend and he's so cute...he asked if we could go to the zoo! that's always been our birthday outing for him since he was a toddler. I love that he still wants to go!

  6. That is amazing that even at 25 he still recognizes how special those traditions are. I want to start doing family hikes so maybe that could become a tradition for us :)

  7. Yes, it's terrific! I thought it was just so sweet. Hiking is a great family activity and you are right.....they will do it as grown ups! We hiked a lot with our son as a baby even and he goes on his own with friends and has gone back to a lot of the hikes we used to do. It's great.

  8. Hi! We had a stretch of amazing weather last week, 70's in mts, 80's in town (it's too hot) . Rain over the weekend (why?) and now back to clear skies and sunny weather! it's pretty great. Snow is melting quick, everything is closed now and the roads to the lakes and park areas are accessible! yay! how are you doing?? Is it hot hot yet there?

  10. Nice! Great time of year. Today was stellar here! The snow is mostly melted now but the lake is accessible, though the water is COLD! Been enjoying getting out and walking around on bare ground!
