The past few Valentine's Days we have indulged in our craft beer love at local breweries. Since this was close to that holiday we stopped at Heathen Brewing's Feral pub house in Vancouver WA. Great beer, friendly service and good bites to eat. We walked out with a growler of a Mojito Sour Ale....yes, Mojito. SO tasty... Their tap list is impressive and I will happily visit again as there is something for everyone no matter what your taste tends to. They also have bottles available to go and we grabbed a couple "Graveyard of the Pacific" bombers. Certainly one of the better beers I've had this year and tops my list for Imperial Red Ale . But the label art? Damn! That's fine!! This is a collaboration with North Jetty Brewing, located in the Long Beach WA area. When I get to Long Beach, where am I going to go? yup.

That shot of Mae on the beach is amazing!!
ReplyDeleteMan all this brewery talk, I need to go stock up on some local brews. I bought some of the Oak Creek Ale I mentioned and I think they were gone I less than 48 hours lol.
that beach is so beautiful, it's hard to get a bad photo! Hey, beer is excellent for refueling? Lol!
ReplyDeleteHeck yes beer is excellent for refueling...lol. My problem is, I often think I can get away with it as fueling. I will have a couple beers and go out the next day and have a good run. So stupid me thinks "beer doesn't effect my running" and of course that just dumb lol.
ReplyDeleteha! Well maybe if you are a nervous runner and need to relax? No running here today. Got a good snow fall , super light fluffy stuff. I spent a few hours out on the mountain having fun! Still snowing and the highway is closed in both directions. Glad I am stuck at home!
ReplyDeleteHighways reopen yet? Any other adventuring around the mountains?
ReplyDeleteI came down with a cold :( I am SO glad I got out on the mountain Monday because since then it has rained and been chunky, icy and messy. Ya, but my husband lost a few hours waiting at his office for it to open. Seems like this winter has seen way too many closures! Another storm coming in tonight through tomorrow ....oh boy!
ReplyDeleteHow are you?? Good job on the weight training btw!
Can't help it, all that snow and slush sounds fun, guess it's because we do t get any of that down here lol. Hope husband is staying safe, I'm sure that makes the driving conditions tough?!?!
ReplyDeleteThanks, it's been working out so far. I'm hoping to really have a breakout race at the end of April :)
the snow and slush is fun for a day!!! I'm looking at a month of it I think. It's about as slushy snowy as it gets out there right now. The trails will be snow covered for at least 2 more months! I'm coming to AZ!! :) Yes, the driving can be a challenge. and the road closures especially are terrible. Nothing worse than sitting out there. a breakout race sounds so exciting! I need to work this month at getting out and being somewhat consistent. The weather is killing me and my plans.
ReplyDeleteConsistency is the hardest thing. I'm supposed to be ramping up for the end of April and I had a total of 20 miles last week lol. Oh well, on to this week hopefully :)
ReplyDeletewith today's busy lives it's hard to be consistent in anything!
ReplyDeleteHow's your consistency going? I've been battling a cold for a week now, consistency went right out the window lol
ReplyDeleteOh no, me too!! Ha ha, I came down with a cold last tuesday. I didn't do anything but eat, sleep and watch tv! I did manage to go snowboarding friday though and it was the best riding I've done in a few years. this week, back to some easy yoga but we have had 3 feet of snow...another highway closure that I got stuck on the wrong side of (not at home) and ...there is so much snow that even just getting out on the mt to walk around is difficult! Running here seems a long way off this year!! I was talking to a neighbor about how hard it is to be motivated to rive down to runnable terrain!
ReplyDeleteHonestly I miss snowboarding, I haven't been in years. I need to grab the boys and get some sessions in, I think they would have a good time.
ReplyDeleteI'm tired of hearing about your snow excuses lol j/k. I agree, when there is so much work involved just to get out for some activities, it's easy to just pass on it, I'm guilty of that way too often.
Oh where is the nearest? Flagstaff? Well to put it in perspective, as of march 9th, we have had 5 feet of snow here! Lol! So, ya....hard to get out and run! And now it's been pouring rain everywhere. Hawaii sounds good about now!
ReplyDeleteover your cold I hope?!
ReplyDeleteFlagstaff or Show Low, about the same drive time from our house. 3-4 hours. We are actually headed up north this weekend to do some fishing :).
ReplyDeleteYeah that's a lot of snow. I guess you could do some snow showing?!?!
Cough is still lingering but I finally ran this morning. Now i feel like garbage lol.
Oh no! Well I hope you kik it to the curb soon! Yes, I will have to get some photos. This time of year is pretty disgusting as the snow melts and is dirty. Sooner or later it gets that strawberry mold on it!
ReplyDeleteHave a great fishing trip!!
