Spring in the Mountains

Technically , the end of winter, but Spring is on it's way to the mountains.  March started out with  5 feet of snow in the first 9 days and quickly became all about rain.  It's been looking fairly dark and gloomy out there, but we are still out and about, waiting for some blue sky and sun....might be awhile?

  2. Wouldn't it be great if the mountain roads and trails were PLOWED? Lol.
..it will be a couple months before they are accessible. The neighborhood roads are clear though! Your blog has been quiet, how's training going?

  3. Yeah i haven't been feeling like blogging lately. Training took a bad turn when I got sick. I was planning a race at the end of April but I won't be ready for it. I'll still run and just use it as a training run. Hopefully get back in shape for a really good June or August race.

  4. So many peple have had a hard time kicking colds this year. They seem to linger and cause set backs....no fun! How is Mrs Schlub feeling? Better I hope! Did you get out fishing this weekend?

  5. Mrs. Schlub caught a cold like the rest of us. But pregnancy wise she has been much better. Although she has a tendency to do too much during the day and then she gets swollen feet and ankles.

Yes we did get out for some fishing. It was a great family weekend. Caught some nice trout and will have a fish cookout here pretty soon.

  9. I'm not a big salmon fan, it's delicious but crab is by far my favorite. I'm a bit OCD so getting all the meat out is a lot of fun for me lol

  10. I can just see you with those little poker things! I'm so glad Mrs. is feelling better. It can be a long 9 months! So tell me about the April Race. You must be very disappointed to not be ready , but I'm sure the value of running it as a training race will be really high.

  11. I'm glad she is feeling much better, it's hard as the husband cause there is nothing you can do to help.

The race is a 50k ultra at night. It's being held at the trails I run all the time. Six loops on the main trails in the park. I do most of my runs in the dark so that should be easy. Hard part will be taking it easy and not trying to race for time.
